Offer cash on delivery on your own online store

Turn on cash on delivery with one switch, and add a COD fee if you want one. ShopNx charges its 1% only after the order is delivered, not returned, and the cash has reached you.

How a COD order works

  1. The customer chooses cash on delivery at checkout.
  2. The order is confirmed straight away, and its stock is taken off the shelf.
  3. You pack and ship it. The payment shows as pending.
  4. The customer pays when it arrives, and you mark the order as paid in your admin.

Should you charge a COD fee?

A COD order costs you more than a prepaid one. Couriers often charge to collect cash, and a customer who has paid nothing finds it easier to refuse the parcel. A small fee covers part of that and nudges some customers to pay online. It can also put off a customer who was unsure. If you are starting out, try it on your own orders and watch what happens to your sales and returns.

How the ShopNx fee works on COD

Say a customer pays ₹1,060: a ₹1,000 product plus a ₹60 COD fee. Once the order is delivered and the cash has reached you, the ShopNx fee is ₹10.60, plus ₹1.91 GST. If the parcel is refused or returned, you pay nothing to ShopNx for that order. See the full pricing.

Taking orders from social media?

Many customers who find you on WhatsApp or Instagram want to pay on delivery the first time they buy. Offering it can help them take a chance on a shop they have not bought from before.
