ShopNx vs Medusa

Both have open-source code you can run yourself. On hosting, Medusa charges a monthly plan and nothing on sales, while ShopNx charges nothing a month and 1% of successful sales plus GST. Medusa suits you better if your developers work in TypeScript, or you sell across regions and currencies.

What each one offers

Choose Medusa if

  • your developers work in TypeScript and want to build on it;

  • your sales are large enough that a fixed monthly plan costs less than a percentage;
  • you need MCP access for AI agents now, rather than when it arrives on ShopNx.
