Take questions about a product

Shoppers can ask about a product from its page, and the questions arrive with your contact messages. For made-to-order stock, Enquiry mode replaces buying with asking.

Each product page has an Ask about this product button, which is on from the start. Questions land under Customers › Contact messages, marked Enquiry, and you answer them there.

To tell you of each one, set Announce new messages to in that screen's settings. To stop taking questions, switch off Take product enquiries there.

Ask instead of buy

In Settings › Store, under Customers and checkout, switch on Enquiry mode when shoppers should ask rather than buy, as with made-to-order jewellery. The enquiry form then takes the place of Add to cart on every product, and Button text sets what the button says. It starts as Enquire.
