Set up taxes

No tax is charged until you add a rate under Settings › Taxes. Stores in India can fill rates from the GST schedule.

Go to Settings › Taxes and press New rate.

  • Name is what shows on the invoice, and Rate is the percentage.
  • Country and State say where it applies.
  • Category covers everything beneath it, and Product beats any category. The most specific rule wins.

In India, Fill from India's GST schedule proposes rules matched to your HSN codes, for you to review before saving.

Whether your prices already include tax is set under store details. Some customers can be exempt through a tax-exempt group.
